A Quick Trip Home- All For a Haircut...?

Boston, MA

2021 Spring Semester

A 6 hour drive home on a Sunday, all so I could get my hair done...

The final result.

Let me ask a few questions: do you love getting your hair done? Do you love the way it smells afterwards? Do you love the way it feels when your hair dresser is massaging your head in a peaceful and soothing way? But most importantly, do you only trust one specific person?

If you answered yes to any of those questions then you're in the right spot.

I live right outside of Boston so my hair salon is located in one of Bostons outer cities: Brookline. The salon I go to is called 'Dellaria.' My whole life I have been going to a salon in my small town Winthrop, but this past summer my older sister, Abby, encouraged me to try this new salon out. I am a very picky person when it comes to my hair...I like to have my hair a specific length, specific color and specific style. Therefore, I was a little hesitant. But I decided, 'hey we're living in a pandemic, why not take some risks and try out a new salon right?'

Check out their website: https://dellaria-brookline.salontarget.com !!!

So one Sunday morning in June of 2020 I drove 20 minutes into the city and was on time for my first appointment at "Dellaria" located right near Fenway Park and Boston University. I walked in and immediately was drawn to the Moroccan oil scent and the up-beat hip music they were playing. I began to think this was a great idea. I met my new hairdresser, Anna, she was extremely nice and super friendly. She asked me exactly what I wanted and did exactly what I asked. I was beyond happy about the result of my hair- after that day this was my new salon.

Flash forward about 9 months and here we are, March of 2021. I have not gotten my haircut in a few months and when I went back to school in January my hair was getting to a length that was making me uneasy. I enjoy my hair at a shorter length right around my shoulders. I always have and I most likely always will. A few days prior to my road trip, I decided to pack a bag and drive the 6 1/2 hours from Baltimore to Boston on a Sunday all for a quick haircut Monday morning. I know I may sound crazy, but like I said- I only trust specific people cutting my hair!

Being that we are in a pandemic the salon still has restrictions. They clean off the seats frequently and have boarders up on the rinse sinks.

I finally got my hair done and I am ecstatic. I will now embark on my journey back to Baltimore.

Here are a few pictures of my journey to get my hair done...

A very small glimpse of the city- foggy edition.

Usually you could see the Boston skyline- but the fog is taking the beauteous view away.

If you're in the Boston area and are in need of getting your hair done- try stopping by Dellaria and asking for Anna!
