A Snow Day in the Middle of a Pandemic? I'll Take It...

Baltimore, MD 2021 Spring Semester Loyola University Maryland gives a snow day!  Ahhhh a snow day... who doesn't love waking up to a nice email from the University elaborating to us that we have a snow day? Especially as classes are taken more-so remotely. I was ecstatic.  Email letting us know classes were cancelled!  As a little girl I would hope and pray that even if we had a dusting of snow, the Superintendent would call it! More often than not, that wouldn't happen. I come from an area where it could snow multiple feet and we would still have to trek it in the freezing cold weather just to make it in time before the late bell. The torture of stepping outside and feeling the brick air, seeing the families in my neighborhood snow blowing, cleaning off their cars and drinking a nice hot coffee was horrible. The most we would get was a delayed opening. That was okay, my friends and I were lucky enough to even get that. Well time passes by and now I am in college. I am in...

Baltimore, MD 2021 Spring Semester My 21st Birthday Weekend Spent with Close Friends and Family:)  February 5, 2000 there was a massive snow storm in the Boston area of MA. When my parents were on the way to the hospital they were stuck behind a ginormous truck with a bumper sticker that said, "Saved By Grace." In that very moment, they knew my name would be Grace. My mom always said she knew that they'd choose that name, but the bumper sticker gave some extra validation and acted ...

VENICE, FL  2020 FALL SEMESTER    Loyola University Maryland, or Should I Say Loyola University "Florida"...  Hmmm where do I begin... Well, when I first came to Loyola as freshman in college I never would have suspected that my freshman year would have been my only "full" year of in-person college thus far. I never would have have thought that I would actually miss going to class so much. Most of all... I never would have thought that I would be living in a worldwide Pandemic. There was an abundance that I took for granted, but now I know- nothing is promised. I only was at Loyola my sophomore year for fall semester before getting sent home due to COVID-19. With that, my roommate and I decided to pack up our things and drive down to her house in Venice, FL.  My roommates back yard at the house we resided in from August to November.  Every junior at Loyola gets the privilege to have an opportunity to study abro...
